Creemore Area Initiatives
For several years, CARA has been actively engaged in and advocated on a number of local initiatives, for example, developments planned for Creemore, ATVs on local roads, industrial wind turbines, preservation of agricultural land and local political and planning issues. We want our voice and the voices of our members to be heard before significant decisions are made.
Community Planning and Development Development – CARA has taken an active interest in local developments planned for Creemore. We are in favour of local economic growth which respects Creemore’s unique character. We have contributed to local discussions, attended OMB hearings, communicated our views and worked with developers. Learn more about these developments.

Steer Enterprises at Cashtown Corners
ATVs - We have generally been opposed to ATVs from outside Clearview passing through the area.
Industrial Wind Turbines - We have supported local efforts to restrict wind turbines in Clearview and submitted materials to the Ministry of the Environment.
Heritage - We have hosted meetings and remain interested in initiatives to preserve built and natural heritage in the Creemore area.
Political Initiatives - We have hosted all candidates meetings and provided input to discussions on revised ward boundaries.
Other Planning Issues - We have commented on planning policies and plans at the Township, County and provincial levels.
Community Support - We have attended local events, co-hosted the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, cooked hot dogs for the community and supported various local organizations with modest donations.
